The strengths of my first attempt at motion graphics, Devil Rides Out, was quite successful, I believe this happened because I listened carefully to the step by step instructions and so managed to create a fairly competent design which helped support my knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
My weaknesses were that it took me quite a long time to complete, making quite a few mistakes until I achieved the final product. Even though I followed the video quite closely my final product did not look exactly like my tutors work, making me think I must have made some mistakes.
The strengths of my Pony Compositing are that I think that the finished effect looks quite effective. I listened carefully to the instructions given to me which resulted in my mouth blending in quite well with that of the ponies.
My weaknesses are that after I had produced the Pony Compositing I could not remember how to repeat this technique.
The strengths of E4 Sting were that it was my first attempt and I used some of the techniques that I had learnt from Devil Rides Out. I put these techniques to good use when I created E4, I was particularly pleased that I completed it by myself and I felt that the movement was quite smooth.
My weaknesses here were that the process of creating again was quite slow, I had to take my time, remembering what to do at each stage.
For my final draft I tried to stick quite closely to the brief that the client gave. I had to stick closely to my storyboard for my first draft and I feel that my strengths were that I had remembered what techniques to use after my previous exercises. For my first attempt I was pleased with the colour and the design and the way that the images were brought together. I liked the circle and the movement of the circle. I was happy with the end of the Sport Academy Logo when the words went larger and smaller.
My weaknesses were that when I first created the storyboard I was not aware o how the images would come together but I had to stick accurately to my storyboard. The logo 'Salford City College' did not stay on the screen for long enough, also I did not like the speed of the circle, it was too slow. Even though I liked the style of the 'runner' I did not like the way it moved across the screen, too slow, then too slow without properly blending.
However, I decided to change my final project, making some small changes in order to improve it and make it look more professional. I feel that because of all I had learnt I could complete the task that I needed to. After looking at my final draft I knew that I wanted to improve some of the areas. I was happy wit the amendments I made, correcting some of the areas I had not been happy with on my first draft. The running man was speeded up and blended in better and it lasted for a longer period of time. I speeded up the stripes of the circle making the stripes move more quickly. The logo of Salford City College lasted longer and I added one final technique, the rotation of the circle. Finally, in order to complete the project I added the video footage behind the advertisement.
I feel that my finished product achieved the aim of the project because I feel that it looked professional and would appeal to a youthful audience. It was interesting, I feel that people watching it would instantly be able to recognise what was being advertised. The video opacity I felt was correct because you could see both the logo and the video, neither was too obscured.

HA2 Task 9 - Motion Graphic Sequence
This is my first draft of the motion graphic sequence for Academy Sting. I had to do exactly what my storyboard said even if this didn't work or looked wrong. So I have made some changes to make it look better. The new version is below.
This is my edited version with the changes that I have made. In my opinion this now plays better and looks more professional.
This is my final version with the video behind my motion graphic. There were three choices of opacity, I chose the middle one because it fitted best with my motion graphic.
HA2 Task 8 - Storyboard Treatment
This is my storyboard that I think it might be good for the motion graphic. I had to show what would happen in each frames and also put a written description of what would happen in the box underneath.
HA2 Task 6 - Final Logo Design
This is my final logo design, I'm happy with this choice of what I made. I feel it meets requirement that the clients asked for.

HA2 Task 7 - Adobe After Effects Exercises
Devil Rides Out Tutorial
This is my first motion graphic, but I haven't done it by myself. I used a step by step guide. I'm impressed with my outcome.
E4 Sting Exercise
This is my second motion graphic but I created this by myself. I used the techniques I learnt from the first motion graphic and also I created new ideas and made the motion graphic interesting.
Pony Compositing Exercise
This is an talking pony, a media technician staff showed us this exercise. First we filmed someone's mouth which was mine - I had to talk for a few seconds, when that was done then we cut the mouth out and put on the pony's mouth. They started playing it. The pony was talking with my mouth.
